Insight: The insight stems from the discomfort caused by the government's attempt to change history through censorship in Darbe Shazdeh, an old mansion turned boutique hotel in Isphahan, Iran. The teenage experience of discovering the covered paintings of previously nude females and changing history sparked a desire to address the impact of dictatorial decisions on cultural heritage.
Strategy: The strategy involves integrating humor, Iranian art, and culture into the hotel's visual identity. By incorporating elements that mock the government's censorship while reviving the stolen cultural essence, the design not only pays homage to the history of the mansion but also serves as a form of cultural reclamation.
