As conversations about AI’s impact on creativity intensified in 2024, the project aimed to reframe the dialogue from fear to curiosity and collaboration. Through interviews with designers and creative directors from 10 leading studios and agencies, the project uncovered how creative professionals are integrating AI into their workflows, their questions, concerns, and hopes for its future. The findings revealed that AI can act as a creative partner, accelerating processes, expanding visual possibilities, and enabling designers to achieve results that once required more advanced technical skills.
The outcomes of Artificial Muse took shape as an editorial publication and a card deck, documenting how designers are currently engaging with AI. Together, these artifacts serve as a time capsule, capturing this pivotal moment in design history with the hope that, years from now, we can look back and see how drastically our tools and perspectives have evolved. The project ultimately positions AI not as a generator of low-quality outputs, but as a catalyst for creative efficiency and visual excellence.
